Another quick tip for those manging CUCM aka: CallManager env
When messing with DN numbers, sometimes you just get the ext # next to the button on your Cisco phone. However, unless you do BAT ( see http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/bat/5_1_4/5_1_4/bat_ovr.html) you might have to manually change these extensions one by one. Un order to change this, go to the DN number and scroll down towards the Line section. Fill in the name you want to appear under the first 3 fields (Display, ASCII Display, Line Text Label). This doesn’t requre any reset/restarts and will auto update the users screen.
Also, some users request when a DN rings, to not make any sound, but flash on their handset. To do this for this particular DN, same section, but go under the Ring Setting (Phone Idle) and/or Ring Setting (Phone Alert) and change this to Flash Only.
